My favourite way to embrace each season is by carrying a sketchbook and my oak gall ink into the wild.
I delight in drawing with materials I gather from my surroundings. This morning at the allotment, the bright sunshine encouraged me to experiment with pigments born from nature itself. A beetroot leaf offered a soft, luminous pink its gentle warmth perfectly complementing the deep brown ink I had made in autumn.
By working with what the landscape offers, I create time capsule artworks, fleeting moments preserved in marks and colours drawn directly from the earth.
